You Can Cook is seeking a full-time or job share Project Development Officer to lead on its exciting new Innerleithen Can Grow project.
Our aim is to reduce the community’s impact on the planet and to promote and support a healthy lifestyle. We will do this by engaging a wide cross-section of the school and wider community in food gardening and food waste reduction and through encouraging community composting.
The post involves setting up an edible garden at St Ronan’s Primary School, creating, maintaining and developing a growing club for the children and coordinating a range of gardening and healthy eating classes with parents/carers and the wider community. The Project Development Officer will be solely responsible for the running and delivery of the project until its successful completion. The post also involves training and supporting volunteers, they will monitor and report on all activities within the project and undertake any other reasonable and appropriate duties as required.
We are looking for an individual who is solution-orientated, motivated by their work and has enthusiasm for improving the environment.
Funded by the Climate Challenge Fund this post is a one-year fixed contract.
This post is funded from 1st April 2015 to 31st March 2016.
Gross Salary: £26, 520 (job share pro rata)
