Steamed Chards with Garlic and Olive Oil

Ingredients: 

  • 600g of chards
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (peeled and cut into small pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/3 of a fresh chilli
  • Salt and pepper

Method: 

Wash the chards and cut the stalks and leaves into small pieces and steam them.
Allow it to steam until the chards and stalks have softened and remove them from the pot.
Put some olive oil, garlic and the chilli in a frying pan, and let it fry gently on a low heat, until the garlic is golden. Remove it from the gas.
Pour the chards in the pan with the garlic olive oil and mix well over a medium heat for a couple of minutes.

You can mix it with pasta and rice, or simply have it as a side dish.
